Okay, we know it sounds a little odd, but when you visit this little shop we know you’ll understand why we have it listed. During the 1940’s and 1950’s, many pharmacies in town and throughout the USA had soda fountains and snack bars. It was a common place for Granddads to visit early in the morning for coffee and laughs, and for Grandsons to treat their girlfriends to a milkshake after school. They continue this distinctly American tradition at Sumter Cut Rate. They are open for breakfast and Lunch, featuring Beef Brisket and Soda Fountain Ice Cream Favorites.

With over 18 boat landings managed by state organizations, Santee Cooper Country is great for boating and fishing! Don’t believe all those tales you hear of giant fish and massive catches in Lake Marion and Moultrie? Just look at some of these pictures! Visitors can travel from Lake Marion through the Diversion Canal to Lake Moultrie. At the end of Lake Moultrie lies the 75-foot high Pinopolis Lock which will lower boaters down to the Tailrace Canal which takes you to the Cooper River and on to Charleston. No matter where or how long you want to fish and boat, Santee is the place to be! Many of the boat landings also feature fishing piers and paved lots. Not so much into fishing? Well, just a short ride down the road is the I-95 bridge that crosses Lake Marion which includes an adjacent bridge for those evening walks watching the sun set across the lake or those jogs across the water in the cool morning breeze! We have no doubt that if you are the outdoors type, you will certainly come to love living so close to Santee Cooper Country here at Palmetto Air Plantation!
